Just spoke with a BT Openreach engineer who is connecting a tiny fiber optical cable connector to the newly installed BT Green Cabinet. This is one step closer to Surrey SuperFast Broadband going live in Albury.
He explained the Guildford and Dorking and now connected with fiber and that all points between them will light up before year-end. So that should be Albury, Shere, Gomshall etc. The last connection to the consumer will be over the existing copper cable. The performance will depend on distance from said Green Box to premises. Expect 20 Meg or possibly more if closer than 150 meters.
And if you need more you can of course order a fiber to the building and connect at 100 or so meg.
